Potters Bar Judo Club in Hertfordshire was first opened by Judo Instructor Bob Bushnell (6th Dan) in March 2013 as a way of teaching and promoting Judo to the children and adults of Hertfordshire. He teaches along-side his son, Dean Bushnell (2nd Dan) and long time friend Karen Suarez (3rd Dan), who each hold a full instructors insurance certificate, a child protection certificate, CRB checked and a first aid training certificate. Bob has been teaching Judo for over 36 years and continues to teach a further two nights a week at the long established Sobell Judo Club in Islington with his very good friend Sampson Sampson (8th Dan). Bob is very proud to see three generations of his family on the mat every week. His fellow instructor Karen and her two daughters are also keen members of the club, providing a truly family friendly atmosphere that all judoka can expect and enjoy.
Our aims and objectives:
1. To promote Judo to as many people who wish to practise
2. To provide guidance through a structured teaching method, encouraging the ongoing development of Judo within the community
3. To provide a happy, safe and friendly environment for all to practise Judo
4. To encourage a fitter and healthier way of life and to teach mutual respect to each other.
